Lake Huron
Lake Huron is located in Michigan. It is the second Greatest Lake. Lake Huron is 23,000 square miles and 59,570 square kilometers. Some of the living things in Lake Huron are fish and fungi. The interdependent relationships are for one the fish. They depend on Lake Huron for its water to live. The plants that live there like kelp actually. The lake depends on them because they suck up all of the dirt and bad stuff in the lake. Now for some of the threats. The biggest one is people. They are a huge threat to all ecosystems. They are a threat to Lake Huron because people pollute the lake water which kills the animals and makes the water dirty. It even kills the plants so they can't make the water clean again. Also ways to conserve the lakes are to take care of them as in not pollute in them and recycle. And if the piece of trash is not meant for a recycle bin that doesn't mean to just throw it on the ground or pollute the lakes still take care of them. Because people are polluting an animals home it would be like someone walking into your house and just throwing trash everywhere and messing up the place. Plus some of the pollution is poisonous and kills the animals and that can be really bad because those animals do good things to the lakes. So save the lakes!
Lake Superior
Lake Superior is one of the five great lakes. It is 32,000 square miles. The wild life consists of fish, wolves, and birds. The threats are global warming, air pollution, and water pollution. The Save Lake Superior Assocation acts on all of these things and more. Lake Superior is protected by the government. Lake Superior is filled with marine life that keep the lake alive. Did you Kkow that Lake Superior is the largest Great Lake? It is bigger than the 5 Great Lakes and 3 Lake Eries combined.
Lake Ontario
Lake Ontario boarders Canada and New York. Lake Ontario is the smallest of the five Great Lakes. Lake Ontario is 193 miles long and 53 miles wide. Did you know that Lake Ontario doesn't freeze in the winter unlike other lakes? Lake Ontario has lots of threats. These are some of the ones that I found: over fishing, invasive species, non point source pollution, shoreline development, cargo ship channels, point source pollution, disappearing native species, pollution hot spots, air pollution, polluted beaches, and water withdraws. There are also ways to conserve Lake Ontario. The Central Lake Ontario is an association that conserves Lake Ontario. One specific way to conserve Lake Ontario is to use steam powered engines instead of gas powered engines.
